A wide-angle shot for mid-June! How very brave of me as it needs a little tidying in this area. I haven't had time yet but just wanted to get one more photo in before the bergenia and weeping crabapple finishing blooming as they are two of my favourite plants!

I notice you have a beautiful basil in your veggie garden in the photo below. How do you make that grow without a greenhouse? I live in Calgary, in Strathona Park and my basil will not grow and all the rain we had this week killed what little was surviving.

I think you must have seen my spinach - I grow basil in a pot but it is not so big and beautiful at this time of year. And that is the secret for basil in Calgary without a greenhouse - grow it in a pot so you can whisk it into the house when it is going to be cold and rainy!!
