honeyberry is the first shrub to leaf out in my garden
Honeyberry is a fruit-bearing shrub which is so frost-tolerant that there is no worry about it leafing out so early. It will have flowers on it very soon! Hooray for spring!
Update: one week later, on April 29, the honeyberries are blooming and several big fat bees have been coming to visit!!

Would you recommend a good place to buy the plants in Calgary?

I'm sure most of the large garden centres i.e. GreenGate or Sunnyside would have them!

They have 3 different varieties of honeyberry right now at the Home Depot at Chinook for $19.99 each. I bought 3 yesterday!

Thanks Megan! Mine are ripening now - it's nice to have fruit this early!
