the asters had a good run this year

  I've complained before about how asters bloom too late in the season, and how many years they get knocked off by frost or snow long before they get a chance to finish their show.

This year, however, they had a nice long go of it, so I'm thinking about giving them one more chance and spreading some around the garden next spring.  It was quite nice to still have a few flowers in bloom these last few weeks.  They looked great until yesterday (Nov 17) when the snow hit.
