The south side of my house is a cutting garden, because it's a spot that you can't see from the street, house or backyard. So it's the perfect place to grow flowers to bring into the house - the only people who look at this spot are my neighbours - well, too bad for them!!
Don't these lilies look nicer in a vase than beside the rain barrel? Since "out of sight, out of mind" often describes my current gardening regime, the flowers in my cutting garden must also be low maintenance and fairly drought tolerant. Of course, they also have to have strong stems and last a long time in a vase. Here are some of my favourites:
