This is a photo of my neighbour's garden. I don't have any large hybrid tulips right now, namely because they flower in spring at a time when I am busy moving plants around and they just get in the way. Maybe once the perennial beds are "done" (they'll never be done) I'll plant some.
But then again they look so ugly after they finish flowering. You have to wait for the leaves to die back before you can cut them off to give the bulbs energy for next year. Either that or treat them as annuals. Most hybrids only last for a few years before they start to die out anyway. But as a cheap, low maintenance gardener, I don't know if I can bring myself to do that...
That said, I'm sure sooner or later I'll succumb to their beautiful spring colours and plant some...
