I picked up a couple of these plants at an end-of-season sale last fall. They were in poor shape at the time but they bounced back no problem. They're in the front yard, in full dry shade by a couple of large spruce trees. Obviously, both shade and drought-tolerant, a rare combination.
They're not the most spectacular plants but the dainty flowers are quite pretty, and the foliage turns red in fall. Look closely and the leaves are also edged with pink, but it doesn't show up well in this picture (my next hobby will have to be photography. when I have more time... ha!) Plus, anything that will grow under a spruce tree is a great plant in my books!
