I am making a mental note to plant some more crocuses next fall. They are one of the first things to bloom in the garden (if you get more sun than me, these would have been blooming weeks ago.) The larger-flowered Dutch hybrids aren't as reliable here, but these little cuties do well with no attention whatsoever. They are growing with drought-tolerant ground covers under the eaves on the south side of my house where they get almost no moisture at all. They come in shades of white, yellow and purple, but only my yellow ones are blooming so far.
