This variety blooms later than my pure purple ones and doesn't get as tall, but it is probably because this one is in deep, dry shade. As you can see, it's right beside a spruce tree (as is almost everything in my yard, for that matter...)
Monkshood supposedly likes moisture but this one is doing OK with no extra care - as bonus, it doesn't require staking!!
