I have been gardening in Calgary since 1998 when I bought my first house. My neighbour had a beautiful perennial garden and every week I would peek over the fence, see something new blooming, and think "I want that!" I started planting a few things and before I knew it I was hooked... OK, obsessed! I started with perennials but soon also "graduated" to growing some vegetables.
I also have 3 kids now and work full-time. So I consider myself a bit of an expert on what grows here in Calgary, low-maintenance gardening techniques (most of which, conveniently, also happen to be "sustainable gardening" i.e. environmentally friendly techniques), and fun ideas for gardening with kids.
This blog is mostly a record of what I am doing in my own garden (battling mistakes by a previous owner and making more garden and less lawn each year!) but I try to write it in a way that shares the gardening knowledge I have gained with others. Please explore and drop me a message when you have time!
As you can tell from the title of my blog, I am also a Garden Coach. If you would like a beautiful and successful garden that nourishes your body and soul, view My Services for consultation details.
